Chemical Operator

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conformer coat application
  • Works from production/assembly instructions, parts lists, verbal instructions, and notes to apply the chemical
  • Utilizes a variety of hand tools such as manual spray gun to apply the chemical.
  • Requires ability to read to English
  • Requires knowledge color codes
  • Use the computer to access work instructions, and to access and/or input labor tracking, work in progress tracking, non-conformance tracking, configuration information, and RIP location look-ups.
  • Clean parts using cleaner, sonic cleaner and other mechanical and manual processes.
  • Performs any operations in the line and may be assigned to other duties when production conditions require it.
  • May be asked to perform other duties not outlined in this description

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read assembly instructions, parts list, and related documentation in English.
  • Must be able to understand and record information on routing instructions.
  • Must be able to identify color codes to match component identification and have working knowledge of productions prints.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works standing and/or seated while performing duties.
  • Handles medium to heavy weight material.
  • Clean room conditions may apply.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting and creating mechanical designs, drawings and some PCB designs in support of new product development and product improvements. The candidate will be required to architect innovative Power Electronic Packaging Designs for the aerospace industry. The candidate should be an expert in thermal and stress simulation tools to validate designs. Furthermore, the candidate will be expected to lead design programs and mentor Junior Mechanical Engineers. 

            Key Responsibilities:

In this role the incumbent’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Mechanical design and electronics packaging of switch mode power supplies, inverters, battery backup power, frequency converters and voltage regulators.
  • Work with Electrical and Electro-Mechanical Engineers to make critical part placement on PCB assemblies.
  • Designs overall mechanical packaging.
  • Create required assembly drawings and wire lists / diagrams
  • Performs design verification and tolerance checking.
  • Run analysis (thermal and stress) to validate design.
  • Create required outline / top assembly drawings for both products and sales proposals.
  • Create detail drawings for use by outside vendors to make per print fabricated parts.
  • Manage Vibration testing for unit Qualification Units.
  • Prepare for and participate in Design Reviews.
  • Instruct production line assemblers on drawing content as required.
  • Consult with production engineering in the design of fixtures required for assembly.
  • Generation, revision, and maintenance of engineering drawings and parts lists.
  • Consult with ILS department to develop assembly drawings compatible with Component Maintenance Manuals.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with transfer of Units from Engineering to Manufacturing.
  • Participate in product cost reductions by looking for, and validating alternate parts. 

                    Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a background which includes the following demonstrable experience, skills and education:

  • Education: B.S.M.E (required) M.S.M.E (preferred)
  • Work Experience: Minimum 10 years design.
  • Must be able to use Thermal and Stress Simulation tools (FlowTherm, Ansys, etc.)
  • Highly motivated self-starters with a desire to win.
  • Comfortable with being held accountable for results.
  • Demonstrated Power Electronic Packaging for Aerospace applications.
  • Experience with Solidworks CAD Tool Package.
  • Be able to design and encompass all aspects of Power Electronics Packaging with emphasis on thermal and weight optimization.
  • Good writing and Documentation Skill.

Production Planner

Avionic Instruments LLC currently has an opening for a Production Planner. This role will have strong interaction with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and with a number of managers. The candidate will be responsible for scheduling production in each of the production lines. 

            Key Responsibilities:

In this role the incumbent’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  1. Processing inputs from Sales, Materials, and Production.
  2. Review and approval of new orders.
  3. Perform a level of demand and capacity analysis.
  4. Creating Production Schedule for several work centers.
  5. Participate in the tracking of orders and of on-time-deliveries.
  6. Provide feedback to Customer Service regarding deliveries to customers.
  7. Interact with Purchasing Department regarding raw materials issues and their resolutionsp
  8. Analyze adherence to schedule and address through problem solving or escalation (with a team).

            Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a background which includes the following demonstrable experience, skills and education:

  1. A personality aligned with demands of fast-paced production
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, supervisors, managers, and executives.
  3. Previous experience in scheduling, production support, and MRP.
  4. Ability to analyze Demand and Capacity.
  5. Personally driven to perform under pressure, when necessary, and to improve systems.
  6. Production leveling (heijunka) experience.
  7. Experience generating reports related to Production Planning.
  8. Experience facilitating S&OP, Lean Manufacturing a plus.
  9. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years.
  10. Education, BA in Business or related field.

Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector will perform electrical, mechanical, and visual inspections of finished goods, in-process products, and incoming raw materials used in the production of products according to documented test and inspection methods.

Responsibilities:

Perform all Quality Control activities as required to ensure that production plans and objectives are completed. Coordinate with other departments to prioritize inspections and record reviews as appropriate.

Assist with resolving quality problems within the inspection department, such as documentation or non-compliance issues.

Perform Quality Control Inspections of Incoming Materials, In-Process Assemblies and Finished Products as required following written procedures.

Review completed process travelers for accuracy and completeness and perform product documentation final release reviews.

Complete and file quality records including process travelers and nonconforming material reports.

Maintain the Quality Control Inspection area in a neat and orderly manner.

Make suggestions as how to improve the quality control process.

Assist QA as required to perform first article inspections, nonconformance investigations, and process qualifications.

Assist Engineering and Quality Assurance to perform component validation and characterization testing.

Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in an inspection role
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to distinguish surface details and characteristics

Preferred:

  • IPC Certification
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, highly trainable and responsible
  • Basic familiarity with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to utilize a computer to enter data and prepare reports
  • Basic familiarity with ISO 9000 or AS9100 Quality System Requirements.
  • 7+ years progressive experience directly with Avionic Instruments LLC

Position Overview: 

Responsible for managing vendors, processing of purchase orders, and supplies.

Responsibilities: 

  1.  Analyze (MRP) Material Resource Planning Reports (3)
  2.  Review shortages and discrepancies
  3.  Select vendors and prepare quotes
  4.  Submit quotes to approved sources
  5.  Review return quotes and select vendor based on cost and leadtime
  6.  Prepare and submit purchase order (PO) upon final approval
  7.  Review outstanding (DMRs) Discrepant Material Report and/or (SMRs) Suspect Material Report
  8.  Review, prepare and submit for approval and place orders for any (MRO) Maintenance, Repair and Operations requisition

Job Skills

  • Analytical Skills: You will be working with multiple vendors to determine the best deals for our company, and will have to evaluate the many pros and cons of each, based on price, quality, speed of delivery and other factors.
  • Decision-Making Skills: You will need to use the information you have gathered to make decisions on behalf of our company.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills will be needed to analyze prices and get the best deals possible.
