Accounting Manager

Position Overview: 

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for general accounting, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Makes recommendations with respect to cost control and ensures accurate ledger/inventory statements in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities.
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
  • Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Basic Requirements:

  • Strong problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Four plus years of experience in an accounting environment.
  • Manufacturing background and strong cost accounting skills
  • Exceptional communications and presentation skills--both verbal and written
  • Be able to work in a virtual environment with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting. 
  • Prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • BS Degree in Accounting

  4. Provides financial perspective in determining the viability of capital program projects.
  5. Direct maintenance of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger systems to ensure accurate record keeping.
  6. Maintain an adequate system of accounting internal controls.
  7. Plan, organize, and direct the gathering, consolidation, and submission of financial data, including monthly financial statements, quarterly/year end reporting, federal/state tax packages and payroll tax returns.
  8. Supervise A/P and A/R staff.

Selective Solder Operator

Avionic Instruments LLC is an internationally recognized leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced airborne-qualified power conversion and control equipment.  We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an individual to assume a role as a Selective Solder Operator.

Position Summary

To set up, operate and maintain the efficient operation of the Selective Solder, Wave Solder and In-Line washer. Ensures that the PCB’s are soldered, washed and inspected per IPC standards. Performs all other function and duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Troubleshoot down to component level.
  2. Support production schedule at all times.
  3. Learn and maintain knowledge of as many product lines as possible.
  4. To work strategically with production, engineering, and sales to support high quality

                        products, on-time delivery and 100% customer satisfaction.

  1. Streamline process of building products.
  2. Communicate issues to engineering, production, quality and materials that effect product

                        quality.

  1. Assist in continuous improvement of all Test Fixtures, Benches, and Operations.
  2. Performs daily equipment maintenance prior to set up and operation
  3. Responsible for set-up , operating the Selective and Wave solder machines
  4. Ability to make minimal adjustments to the equipment operating programs as needed
  5. Loads assemblies to basket and follow wash procedures
  6. Complete appropriate documentations on required forms
  7. Operates the equipment in compliance with the procedure and safety regulations

Completion of Training Requirements is targeted between 6 & 12 months.  Rectification (if applicable) is required every two years unless otherwise specified in the course itself

Qualifications:

  1. Must possess basic computer skills
  2. Knowledge on Through Hole technology,  ability to identify Through Hole components like axial and radial components
  3. Must have ability to work flexible hours and overtime as production requires
  4. Must have working knowledge on soldering and ability to recognize solder defects per IPC standard
  5. BS Degree (with certificates) or at least 4 years of work related experience in the field, or 2 year vocational certificate and 2 years’ experience

Authorities:

  1. Enforcement of policies, procedures and work instructions.
  2. Has the authority to report problems according to  Corporate procedures
  3. Has the authority to stop the manufacturing process if any unsafe conditions are presented

Duties and Responsibilities
* Receive items to stock warehouses.
* Unpack merchandise, equipment, supplies, materials.
* Log items received.
* Label items with identification tags, stamps, electronic markers, labeling equipment, stickers.

* Compare requisition orders with stock.

Rework Associate

Job Title: Rework Associate:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Repair Manager, rework / repair internally manufactured electronic and PC board products within established deadlines and compliant to quality standards.
  • Perform soldering, assembly, component placement, as well as read blueprints/drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum six months of experience in soldering or equivalent training in soldering, electromechanical assembly, and drawing/blueprint reading. 
  • Candidates with experience/certification soldering to the J standard strongly preferred. 
  • Bi-lingual language skills A+ (English and Spanish)
  • Exposure to working in an ISO 9000 certified environment preferred.
  • Solid professional attitude and ability to work effectively on a team in a fast paced environment.
