Avionic Instruments, LLC (AI²) is the leading designer and producer of lightweight qualified power conversion equipment for military, commercial, and space applications. AI² manufactures five principal power conversion equipment lines - DC to AC Static Inverters, AC to AC Frequency Converters, AC to DC Transformer Rectifiers (TRU), DC to DC Cockpit Light Dimmers and AC (or DC) to DC Switching Power Supplies. Products are assembled under an ISO 9001 quality assurance system approved by the U.S. Government, their prime subcontractors, and the aerospace community at large. The repair facility is fully certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

In-house engineering services provide for new product architectures and customized variants of existing designs of static inverters, frequency converters, transformer rectifiers, light dimmers, and power supplies. Technical personnel provide support for logistics, engineering, publications, and contractual data line item requirements (CDRL).

Principal manufacturing processes include automated assembly of surface mount components, transformer assembly, and final product completion. Test and inspection are a part of every manufacturing operation, ensuring the highest quality standards.

Computer controlled test stations (ATE) are used to perform subassembly and final acceptance testing. Customer driven Production Reliability Acceptance Tests (PRAT) and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) are performed on all AI² products. Application specific ESS test profiles, including combined vibration and temperature screening, are performed in compliance with contractual requirements.
